Darweshan-e- Qadian

The Land of Qadian is Sacred Land and One which Allah has chosen to be centre from which Islam would spread all over the world and prevail over all the religions. Indeed it was upon this town that Heavenly Light and Blessings were focused on Friday 13th Feb 1835 when the founder of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community,  The Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi (as)  Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian was born and again it is this sacred soil of Qadian which is the last resting place of Great Spiritual Son of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (saw).

In 1947 when India was divided into two independent states namely India and Pakistan, most of the Muslims in the original India were compelled to migrate to the state of Pakistan. In order to ensure unity integrity and cohesiveness  Hadharat Khalifatul Masih II (ra) was forced to leave Qadian for Pakistan along with the members in the interest of the community, because it would have been impossible for him to supervise effectively the Jama’at affairs all over world from Qadian. In this situation Hadharat Khalifatul Mashih II (ra) asked 313 Volunteers to stay behind to look after the Holy sites in Qadian. Those Volunteers who stayed and sacrificed their entire life for  this blessed cause  are called Darweshan-e Qadian. By the Grace of Allah, through their sacrifice all sacred places are safe and protected.  Now only few Darweshan are alive, however a  large population of Qadian belongs to darwesh families and descendants.

Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih II (ra) said about Darweshan-e-Qadian and their descendants :

“Had not the requirements of the community compelled me, I would have been with you people. But heavy heart and sadness I am sitting here far away from you and Qadian. It is not known when that day will come when I will be able to reach there, which is the abode of the prophet of God and permanent centre for Ahmadies. You are those people who will be remembered with glory and pleasure for thousands years in history of Ahmadiyyat and descendants of you will be looked upon with respect, honor and will be recipients of the blessings of Allah as  God’s Grace does not choose any body without any reason.
